umwolverine - February 5, 2012
OMG you've been infected...
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
nah, just bored
umwolverine - February 5, 2012
clear winner.
just like the pats today.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Up early, eh?
tehGrindCrusher - February 5, 2012
podium!
Albertina - February 5, 2012 via iPhone app
seriously aso, can you not provide a ticker for this race?
umwolverine - February 5, 2012
So where's the party, here or there?
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
take your pick. but, probably here. tho relying on twitter updates until live viddy starts.
umwolverine - February 5, 2012
can we add in a couple of updates from Etoile de Bessèges (stage 5a) as we
wait for some action?
Uphill - February 5, 2012
ok, here we go:
Todays stage was modified a bit (a hill taken out) and runs for 75km. The last stage is a TT (9,7km) which will go ahead this afternoon local time (CET).
with 26km to go, we have a break with 42secs to the peloton.
Renaud Dion (Bretagne Schuller), Frédéric Amorison (Landbouwkrediet) et Jonathan Hivert (Saur Sojasun)
Uphill - February 5, 2012
15km to go.
Jonathan Hivert (Saur Sojasun) solo in front. Very little gap.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Stéphane Poulhiès (Saur Sojasun) wins from a bunch sprint.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Traksel has been quite consistent
1 Stéphane Poulhiès (Saur Sojasun)
2 Justin Jules (Véranda Rideau U)
3 Bobbie Traksel (Landbouwkrediet)
Vlaanderen90 - February 5, 2012
Pascal Jules son, isn't it?
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
Yes
Vlaanderen90 - February 5, 2012
Traksel will probably move up in the GC.
TT skills?
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Not much
Vlaanderen90 - February 5, 2012
I hate threads with multiple races...hate 'em.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
I'm confused
How do you really feel?
tehGrindCrusher - February 5, 2012
You dislike two races in one thread ….. I dislike two threads for one race.
I guess we are both grouchy today
Willj - February 5, 2012
So if we have two threads, and the same two races are discussed in both...
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
I am think of adding in a bit of info from Tour d´Egypte
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Both happy!
No, wait, probably not.
tedvdw - February 5, 2012
My mistake will. i put the other thread up hours ago, not thinking there'd be one.
I should have known better.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
As a general rule of thumb, races with streams will have livethreads
Most often scheduled to go up at race start time (not earlier) .
Jens - February 5, 2012
Don't worry Jens. i won't waste your time or will's again.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
no worries
better two than none
Jens - February 5, 2012
Why did you delete it?
I had linked your post in this post’s description! Also removed now.
tedvdw - February 5, 2012
Thanks Ted! I think Will is correct...two posts is confusing.
I felt stupid okay ;)
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
maybe SBNation needs a merge function.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
we might get merged with an SBNation motorcycling blog
Willj - February 5, 2012
I am being told all M/A's are successful
Uphill - February 5, 2012
What would be great is if it could be in a different colour. It would work like a charm.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
no worries
I was mainly kidding.
(I don’t see the problem with 2 races in one thread if the other race is small – seems like a good idea to me – unless there is a spoiler issue)
Willj - February 5, 2012
It's my ability to keep the names in my head...see further down.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
its funny, it works very well for me and my memory went down the drain
years ago.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
I can remember all my students' names within a day...for any others my brain seems to be in shutdown.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
I would not be able to remember the names of an entire class
of students after 24 hours. Maybe a handful or so. I would just have to be very selective and ignore the rest.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
I think it's a survival skill early in your career. Later, it's second nature.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
How long until viddy?
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
in about 60min
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Morning. How about Challenge de Mallorca?
After 3 laps 13 in a breakaway with 24 secs – Boaro, Sergent, Madrazo, Brutt, Matthews, Saez, Cordeel, Neyens, Henao, Nordhaug, Kwiatkowski, Carazo and Reza
pippita - February 5, 2012
Seahorse loves you.
tehGrindCrusher - February 5, 2012
HeeHee :)
pippita - February 5, 2012
LOL...It's probably that I'm envious of the fact that apparently some people can keep around 200+ names in their heads.
I have enough trouble remembering who’s in one race. Two is just ridiculous for me. Jokes aside, i do find it really confusing.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Morning from SuperBowltown.
majope - February 5, 2012
where are you?
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Indy!
majope - February 5, 2012
are you a fan of any of the teams?
Uphill - February 5, 2012
No.
But the city is crazy. We were downtown last night—amazing party atmosphere.
majope - February 5, 2012
any bands playing?
Uphill - February 5, 2012
We had tickets to a 50 Cent/Lil Jon/Pitbull concert, but didn't get in.
Too crowded. But we were there to people-watch anyway, so no biggie.
majope - February 5, 2012
missed a concert of a lifetime. Too bad.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Couldn't pull my husband and his friend away from where ESPN was broadcasting.
If you zoomed in about a billion times on their crowd coverage, there we were.
majope - February 5, 2012
Missing 50 cent
now there’s a blessing.
Saw him at a festival once, while sitting in the feedzone. Worst performance, ever. And a sample of a gun shooting after everything he said.
“Hello Belgium!”
BANG BANG
Hilarious.
tgsgirl - February 5, 2012
I'm of the distinct and considered opinion
That 50 Cent sucks.
tehGrindCrusher - February 6, 2012
Indianapolis
Vlaanderen90 - February 5, 2012
What is this of which you speak?
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Ahhh, handegg
Jens - February 5, 2012
bowling today?
Willj - February 5, 2012
BTW
jackie Treehorn died yesterday.
sad
Willj - February 5, 2012
Who is that?
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
Big Lebowski fame
Willj - February 5, 2012
Actor Ben Gazarra
Dude was a known pornographer
Jens - February 5, 2012
Willj - February 5, 2012
Impossibe.
I have never heard of him.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
British TV is showing highlights of TdU!
Strange scheduling!
pippita - February 5, 2012
It's hot, it's a bike race.
It’s sort of like Qatar.
majope - February 5, 2012
hell, they could merge the two races.
10 stages.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
And between them they would have average sized roadside-crowds
Jens - February 5, 2012
What would that be...the average i mean?
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
lots of sheiks in crocodile boots.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Zing :)
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
13 viewers/km*
’may or may not be complete nonsense
Jens - February 5, 2012
Via Erik Dekker, Rabo DS
edekker1970 on Twitter:
First crash of the day:

(click for larger)
Then: Vermeltfoort was in the 2nd crash of the day, DNF because of a deep arm wound.
tedvdw - February 5, 2012
Doesn't look that bad
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
As I wrote: pic from the first crash, arm wound from the second
tedvdw - February 5, 2012
Yes, I'm aware of that
My comment is that this crash doesn’t look that bad.
Should I have kept that to myself?
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
Aren't we all prickly this morning.
Sorry.
tedvdw - February 5, 2012
As usual when someone is angry at me, I really have no idea what happened
So I’ll just smile and walk away….
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
Bummer for Vermelfoort.
majope - February 5, 2012
One Rabo talent down, 687 to go
Jens - February 5, 2012
updating your VDS picks?
Willj - February 5, 2012
Did I Follow the Rules?
No, you must fire 20 riders from the team.
No, you overspent 28 points on the budget.
Yes, you filled the available spot for riders costing 24 points or more (not mandatory).
Yes, you have still 1 spot available on the team for riders costing 18 points or more.
Jens - February 5, 2012
Check, check, check and check.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
it’s great when the Pro Teams post “live” photos
Willj - February 5, 2012
it could easily be integrated into a live ticker.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Apparently Farrar took a tumble too
but won the 2nd intermediate sprint later so not too serious
Jens - February 5, 2012
He knows I want him on my team.
So he’s both taunting me and trying to prove himself. It’s a tough balance.
majope - February 5, 2012
Just imagine how much FSA VDS form he is wasting right now
in order to tempt you to pick him!
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
When you pick your team based on how they do in the TDU, Qatar, and Oman
turns out they really rock until, oh, about March 12 or so. Then it’s a long slide to the end of the game.
majope - February 5, 2012
Except Sagan...ouch.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
This year I'm toying with a team based on as little thought as possible.
At the moment I just can’t see any way that VDS doesn’t wind up with me pissed off at myself for being so stupid.
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
This is my 4th year playing.
I’m always stupid.
majope - February 5, 2012
Same
and same.
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
Three quarters of my team are riders I like. It's when I try to be clever that I'm disappointed.
A certain Euskie omes to mind…
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Last time I picked riders I liked, I jinxed them so badly
I still have guilty nightmares about it.
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
LOL. I have permanent places for two old war horses, no matter what the price. After that, most of it is whim.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Thomas Löfkvist could have won the Tour by now
if it hadn’t been for my jinxing
Jens - February 5, 2012
I like you too much to comment on that directly.
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
You've gone soft
Jens - February 5, 2012
TWSS?
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
that's more like it
Jens - February 5, 2012
I'll do it:
Did you mean jizzing?
tedvdw - February 5, 2012
I think I'm going to end up with a Cobbles team this year and klodi as my sprinter :)
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
14?
I hate it when my favorites price themselves out of the running
Jens - February 5, 2012
he is in a transition phase.
could pay off.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
To the Classics?
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
a new Cancellara with better English skills
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Are you talking about Farrar? Really? And Cance's English is part of his appeal.
And whilst I’m sceptical of any new Cancellaras, I think that a Farrar who was almost purely a classics rider, is someone i’d be happy to have on my team. I’m thinking Langeveld as my young Classics stud.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Farrar is half the price.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
And half the talent...at this stage.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Twitter says Qatar now live on ES 2.
Is that TV or internet?
majope - February 5, 2012
working
http://sports-livez.com/sopcast/sop-2.php
Only 25.5km to go?!? Bawls.
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
Live!
majope - February 5, 2012
yay, brian
umwolverine - February 5, 2012
Svein Tuft looks like Stuey's twin.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
copy + paste jersey from Beppu's design
which is a shame.
RollinRollinRolland - February 5, 2012
That's what I thought too...at first I was a little perturbed at how Anglicized Beppu had become.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
happy to learn that I am not alone in thinking that, I got very confusedface for a moment :)
LittleOldLady - February 5, 2012
Yay...LOL, I'm having trouble keeping young Richie on my team. The move to sky has taken the fun away...
David Tanner will need a cheer squad.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Oh I have big trouble to keep all my favorites on the team
for now I have riders for five teams and need more than 150 for each of them, so it is fine with me if you don’t have room for Richie, I understand the problems
LittleOldLady - February 5, 2012
I feel disloyal. I'm actually thinking about taking Mick Rogers...sigh.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Still 20 km or so.
Bah—I have to leave before the end.
majope - February 5, 2012
Going to church (i.e. the Indy-dome or whatever it's called)?
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
Nah--Sunday mornings I usually run with a running buddy.
I keep staring at my phone in case she texts me she’s cancelling.
majope - February 5, 2012
I respect your religious observances.
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
at least you got to see all the action in the middle of the race.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Can someone please jog my memory? Was this race streamed last year, or is this a first?
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
been streamed for a few years
Jens - February 5, 2012
I can remember that it was on Eurosport
pippita - February 5, 2012
Good morning people..!
Yeah a race…! and with video..! and look the camera doesn’t stand in one place only!!!
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
what was that?
umwolverine - February 5, 2012
Jack bauer with a flat?
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
hopped across the road a bit there, didn't he?
umwolverine - February 5, 2012
One man against the peloton
If anyone can get back on he can do it :P
RollinRollinRolland - February 5, 2012
Watch as over the next 24 hours he uncovers a vast conspiracy in the peloton
And stops the terror from spreading
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
Only 19 days, 20 hours
and 3 minutes until Omloop Het Nieuwsblad…
Mr Van P - February 5, 2012
Woooooohoooooo!
Jens - February 5, 2012
+645
tgsgirl - February 5, 2012
sorry 30 minutes.
Mr Van P - February 5, 2012
Ah, hell.
I was jumping up and down with excitement for a moment there.
majope - February 5, 2012
Pete is mean
and apparently he has carnie hands as well I’ve been told
Jens - February 5, 2012
I have had that countdown running on my google home page
since the award ceremonies of Paris-Roubaix.
Mr Van P - February 5, 2012
that extra 27 minutes is killing me
Willj - February 5, 2012
chartreuse basketball uniforms?
umwolverine - February 5, 2012
In other news, I serviced my bike myself today, for the very first time...and it still goes :)
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
what did you fix?
Uphill - February 5, 2012
It just needed a general tune-up. I ride it on the beach.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
do you fix punctures?
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Yes, but beaches don't cause many of those. I'm a pathetically lazy rider.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Riding on the beach = CX BABY
I approve.
tgsgirl - February 5, 2012
excellent. It's sorta fun, isnt it?
Mr Van P - February 5, 2012
Actually, it was. Better yet, I felt a great deal of satisfaction when I rode it afterwards :)
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Get over here and adjust my rear derailleur
There’s free beer and bitter aquavit in it for you
Jens - February 5, 2012
PROTIP for you Pete
If you adjust the derailleur badly for the first few days, that means more free beer.
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
Fine by me
Pete is good company anyway (unless he reacts poorly to the bitter)
Jens - February 5, 2012
As an aside
I saw the remake of The Thing today. Early line that made me think you immediately:
“You want to get out of there before the storm arrives. The last thing you want is to be trapped in a cabin during a blizzard with 12 Norwegians.”
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
Hehe
tedvdw - February 5, 2012
Can we wash it down with some leffe?
Mr Van P - February 5, 2012
that goes without saying ......
Willj - February 5, 2012
shift to the lowest cog in the small ring
down shift 3 times. The pulleys, chain and cog should form a perfect vertical line. If not adust the rear barrel. Counter (anti) clockwise will move it left, clockwise right. Never more than say a 1/4 turn at a time.
Ok where is my Aquavit?
Mr Van P - February 5, 2012
Dude
I’d say you deserve a bonus for fixing it remotely.
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
I can see it now. Ah, Jens
I found the problem. Somehow an empty vodka bottle got jammed in the rear derailleur cage.
Mr Van P - February 5, 2012
Will there be Northern Lights? If so, I'll bring the tools AND the beer :)
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Somebody told Lotto the TV is on.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
cav's at the back
umwolverine - February 5, 2012
Training ride? Isn't that what happened last year with Renshaw designated sprinter
might mean Apollo is the ds for Sky
RollinRollinRolland - February 5, 2012
He's crook.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Also sick.
majope - February 5, 2012
Anyone on Sky not sick? :D
RollinRollinRolland - February 5, 2012
Same thing ;)
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
I may be a fan for the first time ever...at least until TdF.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Adam Hansen is an excellent Tweeter.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Someone needs to tell this guy it's Garmin-Barracuda
That name is too badass not to be used properly!
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
So BMC got PG...
They forgot to hire someone to design the kit for him? Yaaack…!
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
Doesn't the Belgian champion have to wear the kit a certain way?
Pretty sure Boonen and Devolder wore kits just like that one.
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
its the red shorts
gaaahh
Jens - February 5, 2012
-10 for the shorts..! that is what it is..!
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
+100
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Sven Nys refuses to wear frog-green Landbouwkrediet shorts
with his Belgian champs jersey. Wears black. Good man.
tedvdw - February 5, 2012
yep... much better with black shorts..
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
let me look... But i am sure there is something different.
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
/
Ehh, a little different.
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
that's good kit
Willj - February 5, 2012
Which one?
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
The jersey has to stay the same
but unfortunately they get free reign to wear the shorts they want
tgsgirl - February 5, 2012
Aha, thanks
Aly Edge - February 5, 2012
Hi, everyone, glad to see everyone here so early!!
Ruthann - February 5, 2012
Ah, 2012 must have started
Sunday with cycling on Eurosport, and a live thread on Podium Cafe.
Although I am still optimistic about my VDS (FSA) team, so it can be Oomlop yet.
EdredonBrowny - February 5, 2012
is the women's VDS also sponsored by FSA?
Willj - February 5, 2012
yes. did you miss the thread?
umwolverine - February 5, 2012
yeah
it was too long when I arrived? #lazy
Willj - February 5, 2012
also I didn’t want to give away any secrets on my all French speaking, cow-loving, super team
Willj - February 5, 2012
Hi, Willj! Yes.
Ruthann - February 5, 2012
Hi & merci
Willj - February 5, 2012
I believe so
I’m going to find this sponsorship difficult (although I’m glad the powers that be have it, well-deserved, etc). I don’t ride bikes, but I am a British accountant. So I read FSA and think Financial Services Authority. This doesn’t make me happy.
EdredonBrowny - February 5, 2012
if you win, you get audited
Willj - February 5, 2012
+1
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
I don't think I need to worry
I had beginners luck last year and still got schooled.
EdredonBrowny - February 5, 2012
Boonen or Chicci for the win imo
whomever they choose to sprint…or whoever decides he wants to :D
RollinRollinRolland - February 5, 2012
Kelly reading my posts!
RollinRollinRolland - February 5, 2012
Ok, 11k to go. Far-rrarrr FTW!!!
Ruthann - February 5, 2012
8.2 ks here Ruthann?
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Oh, wow, my feed is slow! Minnesota is far away from Qatar today!
Ruthann - February 5, 2012
This is more than a Bruce Gap.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Ah, Qatarian deserts, I could cry out of joy
OK, not really. But almost.
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
Willj - February 5, 2012
The weird animals you encounter during your rides
You could write a book
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
I am looking at this race.... Can't imagine a 100km solo ride there?
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
I'd love it if it wasn't too windy. No hills :)
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
I was thinking I would turn around after 10km.... Bored...!
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
Ipod with a book ;)
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
and riding? I will break my neck..!
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
Not on that flat road.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Put it this way...
Andy has nothing on my bike skills..!
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
LOL...
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
greg henderson flats :(
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
why not make a stage that includes a bit of dirt racing?
Uphill - February 5, 2012
There are raiders there?
Who’s the co-commentator?
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
Raiders of the Lost Ark presumably
Though they were in Egypt
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
Brian Smith? probably
Jens - February 5, 2012
That sounds familiar
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
Boonen and Chicchi
Sound like they should be fighting crime
EdredonBrowny - February 5, 2012
Or designing handbags.
Ruthann - February 5, 2012
Or both!
By day, they’re top handbag designers. By night, they right the injustices of the world!
majope - February 5, 2012
Perfect.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Excellent!
Ruthann - February 5, 2012
Bugger Galimzyanov
bad luck :(
RollinRollinRolland - February 5, 2012
He's pronouncing it kicky, not chee chee
(don’t know if that’s right or not). Possibly some kind of kung fu hanbag swinging thing?
EdredonBrowny - February 5, 2012
ooh, I've seahorsed, sorry
and bad luck for Galymizov
EdredonBrowny - February 5, 2012
it's right
Jens - February 5, 2012
It's more like Kee kee
tedvdw - February 5, 2012
3.6 km...hurry up, boys!
majope - February 5, 2012
Have we had a Cance sighting yet?
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
I saw him near the back at around 4k.
Ruthann - February 5, 2012
huge crowds
don’t we have a PdC’r there?

umwolverine - February 5, 2012

Just not there. Hope to get out there this weekend. Will post pics if I do.
tehGrindCrusher - February 5, 2012
they have been told to stay in the shade
Uphill - February 5, 2012
O/T Andy Fenn won in Mallorca!
pippita - February 5, 2012

umwolverine - February 5, 2012
Top 15
http://www.biciciclismo.com/cas/site/noticias-ficha.asp?id=47310
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
Breschel...I'd forgotten all about him.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Nice result for Zak Dempster as well
pippita - February 5, 2012
Okay, okay, I'll be a minute or two late...
majope - February 5, 2012
Easy
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
Tommeke still has it!
majope - February 5, 2012
that was ugly
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
boonen in a slow drag
umwolverine - February 5, 2012
Boonen...well done!
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
Glad i picked him again.. (his price has fallen faster than my company stock)
Mr Van P - February 5, 2012
Lol...perhaps i should have Cance and Boonen on my team. Points wise, i never thought it would be possible.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
I have them both plus Thor.
I am loading up for Roubaix…
Mr Van P - February 5, 2012
Nice! i want to pick Langeveld and docker too. They're cheap and may be very, very good.
Both did well last year.
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
That was incredibly chaotic
Expeience does it
EdredonBrowny - February 5, 2012
That was a bloody weird sprint.
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
As usual, in Qatar
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
lets see. We need to have a finish line somewhere. Any suggestions?
Uphill - February 5, 2012
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
Don't be sorry
He’s Danish and used to it.
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
very much so.
Uphill - February 5, 2012
See you all later!
majope - February 5, 2012
Have a good run!
omnevelnihil - February 5, 2012
Too easy Boonen
knew the QS sprinter would be the strongest, San Luis they looked so dominiant
RollinRollinRolland - February 5, 2012
Of course now at 12 points,
he looks like a pretty safe bet. I can see 2 podiums in the northern classics this year.
Mr Van P - February 5, 2012
OMQS dominating the pre-season races...
Is this a good sign for the rest of the year?
Will they dominate now and die down by classics time?
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
They used to do well in April after dominating Qatar in the past
Jens - February 5, 2012
So you predict a few good finishes on the classics?
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
No, they'll be terrible
Stink the place ups. Absolute.shit.
Jens - February 5, 2012
Jinxed already...
Now how many guys I have from OMQS? time to change stuff around.
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
No- you should go al Rabobank
Their cobble strategies are just amazing!
ursula - February 5, 2012
Thinking back to the Velo at Roubaix in 2010
when Boonen couldn’t come around Hammond for 4th. He seemed to have sunk pretty low for a one time green jersey wearer. It’s nice to see him with a finishing kick again. The classics start in 19 days…
Mr Van P - February 5, 2012
It was a very Cadelesque sprint
Seahorse - February 5, 2012
That's more domination in one month
than an entire season last year, so I’ll take it
tgsgirl - February 5, 2012
Fuck, some people should stop overacheiving
Jens - February 5, 2012
Pay no attention to the man in 9th position
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
Oh, oops? :P
RollinRollinRolland - February 5, 2012
If I had a VDS shortlist
He would be on it.
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
Never pick based on the TDU & Qatar
And also I have no idea of what you’re talking about. These bags? They just got filled up by accident by the Qatari sandstorms.
Jens - February 5, 2012
Nah, he would've been on that list since last year
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
Van Genechten 9th
Good result for Bridgestone
RollinRollinRolland - February 5, 2012
all this results just make my VDS brain work extra..... :(
pablo777 - February 5, 2012
well done
to Adam Blythe. ok so it’s not a classic but it’s a start after a nothing season.
Maratsafin - February 5, 2012
indeed
civetta - February 5, 2012
Sand > mud
Looks like Jens has the Koksijde-bug!
Also, hell yeah Tombo.
tgsgirl - February 5, 2012
I think I have a crush on Taylor Phinney
NTTAWWT
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
brilliant
(the blog, I mean)
civetta - February 5, 2012
There's room for another race in here, right?
Wanna see Andy Fenn win Trofeo Palma?
tgsgirl - February 5, 2012
A crash a bit back during the sprint
Any known injuries?
TheFigurehead - February 5, 2012
None that I've heard of
tgsgirl - February 5, 2012
Is it just me who's still struggling with these hybrid team names??
civetta - February 5, 2012
I'm pretty good at them
Cause I just wilfully ignore one part
QuickStep
Lotto
RadioShack
There, easy.
Leowhatnow you say?
tgsgirl - February 6, 2012
Works for me too...or I throw an acronym around and hope it resembles the real thing.
Seahorse - February 6, 2012
I propose shortening the aussies too
Does “Grean-o” comply with the official aussie nickname rules?
Jens - February 6, 2012
Or we could call them Bruce
TheFigurehead - February 6, 2012
Good thinking Sven
Jens - February 6, 2012
Thank you, Sven
TheFigurehead - February 6, 2012
Perfect...It would be unsurprising to see it take hold here :)
Seahorse - February 6, 2012
Me too
I duck dived the cycling world for the offseason and find myself (even more) discombobulated (than usual).
tehGrindCrusher - February 6, 2012
This year at least the kits are more easily differentiated...although Cofidis and Katusha are both very red.
Seahorse - February 6, 2012
That's true.
It got tough keeping all the black uniforms apart last year.
I suppose you’ve closed the book on moving out to the Gulf?
tehGrindCrusher - February 6, 2012
I'd actually love to for a couple of years, but that Alzheimer's is insidious...my poor mum :(
Seahorse - February 6, 2012
Boo
Sorry to hear that.
FYI, it looks like I may be moving to Brussels in a year or two.
tehGrindCrusher - February 6, 2012
Now that will strike envy into the hearts of many here, although not me.
I’m allergic to grey skies.
Seahorse - February 6, 2012
I know there'll be a new thread up later, but I've been trying to find the order for the TT. Any ideas?
So far I’ve got nothing, even from the official site.
Seahorse - February 6, 2012
Nothing yet
Biciciclismo are usually fastest with those. Probably you can take the Team GC from the official site in reverse order starting from 13:00 CET?
Jens - February 6, 2012
Thanks Jens. There are teams I really want to see, and others not so much.
