Looking at the list of already submitted teams, I couldn't help but laugh at a few of them. Never mind who is actually in your team - VDS will result in crushing disappointment for all but a few. But even if you don't win, at least you can have a cool team name.
This year so far (I've ignored the not-yet-submitted names as they still can be changed):
Runner up is...
OnTheRivet with "25 Riders Sure to Excel in 2013". Tell me about it.
And the winner is...
edredonbrowny with "Henao, Henao, don't dream it's Omloop". Brilliant.
If tgsgirl submits "Sependipity" that'd make my list too. (Oh - and my favourites from previous years are: "Derailleurs in the Mist", and "I Picked You Why"? I guess I like a good pun and some soul-destroying angst.)

Awesome

Gosh. Thanks both.
I gave up on “Getting Wiggy with It”, and also “Getting Wiggy with Piti”. So glad I arrived at something popular!
EdredonBrowny - February 22, 2012
That one if fantastic :D
tgsgirl - February 22, 2012
Civetta's 'Owls of Derision' is still my all time favourite...love it.
Seahorse - February 22, 2012
Yep.
I agree with your winner pick.
I also like “My brakes must be rubbing”.
And my favorite from previous years is “Riding Squirty”…I chuckle every time I read it.
swells - February 22, 2012
So many great names...
I especially enjoyed French Postal, Death Head Racing, Team Sneaky, The Nazgul, and Argh!
tgartner - February 22, 2012
Piti's Fools and The Revolution Will Not Be Motorized
Are two of my favourites.
EdredonBrowny - February 22, 2012
+1
I PITI the Fool

Willj - February 22, 2012
I like those:
Raving Mad and Somewhat Slightly Dazed
Woulda Coulda Shoulda
Fighting Squadron of Mosquitoes
But my all time favorite is: allez u bustards
holmovka - February 22, 2012
I got a good laugh from....
Thank You for the Heartbreak
French Postal
Those Who Dig
Occuppy Muur St
Cycles Goff
bikepig - February 22, 2012
Those Who Dig
is pretty good. I have a pretty good idea who the DS might be (either Tuco Benedicto Pacífico Juan María Ramírez or Bill Carson).
swells - February 22, 2012
There are two kinds of teams my friend..............
Drew Davis - February 23, 2012
Yes, Sependipity will be submitted of course
once I finally get through with agonizing over my six-pointer.
tgsgirl - February 22, 2012
I’m also submitting Sependipity and so is my wife
Willj - February 22, 2012
Just to make sure no one stole my name
I submitted my team early.
tgsgirl - February 22, 2012
I am still deciding
If anyone feels like commenting on my choices or making suggestions:
Coffee Hand Ups
Missionaries of Schleck
Horner’s Celebrations of Style
I Dream of Boonen
Right now I am living off of Coffee so that has the to spot. I am not above taking suggestions or clever edits.
John.. - February 22, 2012
Who else is dreaming of Boonen? Own up!
Bet your dream wasn’t a patch on mine.
Albertina - February 22, 2012
Hmmm
I guess interpretations will vary. I was thinking of dreaming of him winning me points and in the cycling mad world of Belgium he is what many dream to be. I guess the more meanings the merrier…
John.. - February 22, 2012
Oh, I dream of that too :)
Albertina - February 23, 2012
patch?
gross
straw dog - February 22, 2012
Daphny Van Den Brains and the Zombies!
John Cyclopunk - February 23, 2012
I like "Gotta be a mango tree around here somewhere"
gizzardfanny - February 23, 2012
Wing meet Prayer is now submitted
I originally named the team Pedal or Die! but thought that might be a bit unfeeling given the dangers my riders face on the road. So to be consistent with my women’s team (Bottom Dwellers) I renamed the team to reflect my chances of winning and how well constructed the strategy for selection.
natbla - February 23, 2012
Sadly, I missed the great opportunity
Oh No Offredo
or
Offredo Where Did You Go
ckdallas - February 23, 2012
Heh, mine's no great pun, but I like it
Aly’s Cats. Very cool, very heyyyy.
Most of the ones I like from others have already been named.
Aly Edge - February 23, 2012
I love Sependipity. Well done tgsgirl.
ZoeRochelle - February 25, 2012
ta
surely the highlight of my vds season
tgsgirl - February 25, 2012
If there ever were any doubt, there is none now...
“Henao, Henao don’t dream it’s Omloop” was the funniest,
but surely
must take the award for best team name
straw dog - February 25, 2012
Absolutely!
Brilliant name, backed up with a podium sweep led by some guy called Sep.
EdredonBrowny - February 25, 2012
Not a full sweep (no Flecha)
but damn close enough :D
tgsgirl - February 25, 2012
I started counting points about 50km out
With Devenyns and Breschel looking good (to me).
Donut. Sigh.
EdredonBrowny - February 25, 2012
Ugh. Painful.
And I apologize, I think having reread the original post I may have inadvertently tried to demote you from already winning the unofficial team name prize…. I was remembering it as a list of contenders.
straw dog - February 25, 2012
Don't be daft
The right lady won.
Also, you are top of my list of most similar VDS teams – though I don’t appear on yours. So I figure you can treat me with as much contempt as you want!
EdredonBrowny - February 25, 2012
Yes, I noticed that - we have 8 in common.
You get major kudos for Poels, who is on all the cool kids’ teams.
straw dog - February 25, 2012
But I like Browny's name better :)
Lets share our prize, ok Browny? What is our prize anyway?
tgsgirl - February 25, 2012
so, i know i'm stupid,
but can someone explain his team name to me? I have no clue …
yeehoo - February 25, 2012
The rider Sergio Henao (Col, Sky) and

Browny's was the one that made me literally lol.
Although I must admit that I am too old and my back is too stiff to rofl these days.

The "PMSL/PML" Facebook Awareness group actually has me almost PMSL-ing.
It’s funny because it’s true.
Yes, I’m looking at you, Alexandra.
straw dog - February 25, 2012
That's brilliant
“This person is a liar, possibly sent by Satan.”
I was amused. Though I remained seated, and continent, throughout the video.
EdredonBrowny - February 25, 2012
thanks for both of those links
ps I am 82 years old
yeehoo - February 27, 2012
Hmm...
Given the way yours came true, and my total inability to pun in Flemish, I feel like I’m taking unfair advantage. But sure – let’s share whatever it is!
