So yeah, cross season is just over, I know. But I have news! Next year, the GVA trophy is going to be different, with real time differences measured at the finish (limited to five minutes), so we'll have a sort of GC at the end. Interesting!

Awesome
Finally HBVL writes something interesting ;)
Same problem as now though miss one race or have a badly timed mechanical and your GC chances are over.

add some punctuation and it even makes sense

And yeah, I liked De Cauwer's suggestion
of everyone getting to drop their worst result.

yup, I like this more

and bonus seconds for placements?
(good idea)

How does Greg Van Avermaet fit into this?
Guess I have too much VDS on my mind.

HeHe! I thought the same thing, when I first saw this post.

Me too. GVA going for GC next year?
For chrssakes, Greg—stick to sprints and one-day races!

Does seem like an extreme reaction to Gilbert joining the team
Sigh…I’ll miss having GVA on my team this year.

me too,
but he had become too expensive
broerie - February 21, 2012
I doubt his cost would have been so hard to stomach
If he weren’t on the same team as his better version.

CYCLOCROSS STAGE RACING
It’s what’s next. Right?
Douglas Ansel - February 21, 2012
This will be interesting.
I guess it will make you more motivated to finish if you get a mechanical rather than just call it a day…5 minute loss is better than DNF, I would think?
JustJoshinYa - February 21, 2012
That piquest the interest of this road fan
But is it reasonably feasible?
