Where will they be racing? On sand!
Who will be racing? Startlist
Where can I watch? Sportz-livez or Cyclingfans
When does it start? At 15 CET.
Who will win? Well, they'll pretty much all be chasing Lars van der Haar

Hello again :-)
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
Look at baby Albert!!
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Good afternoon
(see I’m getting the hang of it)
straw dog - January 28, 2012
I take van der Laar
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
Haar*
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
No, you have to take the first guy you say
you have van der Laar
straw dog - January 28, 2012
I call typo!
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
Ok, when I wrote "Good afternoon" in the post before yours,
I actually meant to type “I’ll take van der Haar”
but my finger slipped
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Look, an American Norwegian!
The oldest contender tomorrow
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
wgat's his story?
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
Not sure why he's Norwegian
David Quist, he sounded very American.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
You can never tell due to all the American language schools. I met some people in Germany who I was certain were American, but they were Frankfurt born-and-bred. Vos always sounds a bit American to me too.
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
They said something about him being an American Norwegian before the video
but I wasn’t really listening
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
I heard the same. Dual nationality, perhaps.
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
he looks liek he's having fun
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
Hello again everyone..!
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
Hahaha
Herijgers to Stybar: “Do you have any hints you can give David?”
Stybar: “I don’t even have enough hints to help myself!”
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Special sand tires?
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
Lots of options
the tire which is ideal for sand is not ideal for the grass and the road. The tire on the bike now is called Griffo, which is sort of the standard tyre.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Coolio
Heule pre-ride with Sven Nys
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfSSqxQlJWA
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Bosmans (Bel)
I feel good and the sand is good, so I feel alright. I’m riding smoothly through the sand. In the race we’ll see, it’ll be a bit weird with the incredible noise of the audience. I even considered riding with earplugs, I even talked about it with Sven Nys. But then I should’ve started doing that a few weeks ago.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Stupid question...
That is flemish?
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
One of the many dialects we have
honestly, if they talk dialect at the race tomorrow, I won’t understand a word.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Is wearing earplugs a skill requiring practice?
I wonder how long SVT has been practicing wearing that scarf indoors.
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Takes getting used to it.
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
It would probably be odd
not being able to hear the other contenders etcetera
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
I can imagine the screaming is hard to deal with.
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
Michael Vantourenhout
Babyface!!
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
cute guy
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
"Pink is for fags"
sort of, with fag being rather jokingly
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Was that Albertina?
Did she have a rough night?
straw dog - January 28, 2012
No
and no
broerie - January 28, 2012
You guys had fun?
The lights looked very pretty on the news
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Yeah it was good
but I was a bit dissapointed in their drinking capacities (only 3 beers)
broerie - January 28, 2012
They're Brits! What did you expect?
What’d you feed them?
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Vedett at supper (all they had)
XX bitter/Omer/Affligem
Duvel/Blonde Leffe
broerie - January 28, 2012
Whaaaat?! I had as much as you did!!!
Bah
Albertina - January 28, 2012 via iPhone app
Which wasn't exactly à lot
Was it?
broerie - January 28, 2012
You can't call me a lightweight when you only had three beers as well!
Bah :)
Albertina - January 28, 2012 via mobile
I wasn't exactly talking about you
;)
broerie - January 29, 2012
Oh good :)
Albertina - February 1, 2012
Lots of drunk people already it looks like
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Orange dude FTW
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Hi, everyone. I want a pair of those bike glasses!!
Ruthann - January 28, 2012
Me too!
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Look a guy wearing an orange body condom...!
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
I was impressed that with an all-over orange bodycondom
he was also completely drunk.
Either he started very early, or he must be using beer suppositories.
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Please, what does "bondcoach" mean?
Ruthann - January 28, 2012
bondscoach = national coach
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Ah. Thank you!
Ruthann - January 28, 2012
bond = federation
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
hallo
geert - January 28, 2012
G'day! (TDU leftover)
Ruthann - January 28, 2012
Bonjour à tous et toutes!
broerie - January 28, 2012
allokes
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
need more coffee
geert - January 28, 2012
always
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Lars FTW
Or Wietse.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
The circuit
The big dune under 4 & 8 is called the Paul Herijgers dune. The third dune, which starts under number 9 is for now called the X-dune. It will be named after whoever become elite world champ tomorrow.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Here you go
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
Thank you!
Ruthann - January 28, 2012
Excellent
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
I don't mind Lars winning
but I hope it’s a thrilling race
broerie - January 28, 2012
They have all been practicing their cool
nonchalant expressions for the camera
straw dog - January 28, 2012
MAYER Yannick
is yawning at the start line, not a good sign.
singhstax - January 28, 2012
Some people yawn when they're nervous
TheFigurehead - January 28, 2012
Kit recognition
Belgians:

Dutch:

Cyclephotos picture
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
So Belgians like orange, right?
=p
Ed K - January 28, 2012
Photogs not happy with the UCI, by the way
there are only four designated ‘photo spots’, the three dunes and the finish. All the photogs apparently got assigned one spot and are not allowed to walk the course, which means we’ll only see official press photos on the dunes or at the finish.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Personally, I'm waiting for the day that someone, somewhere, is happy with the UCI.
But I’m not holding my breath.
Ed K - January 28, 2012
+1
VirtKitty - January 28, 2012
With the number of people there already today
Not sure it will be easy to walk the course anyway
TheFigurehead - January 28, 2012
True
but why only pick those four spots? Now if something happens on any of the other spots, there won’t be any (decent) pictures of it.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Wow, that was a sprint!
broerie - January 28, 2012
What country is the guy in second?
Belgian blue but vertical stripes
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Germany
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Czech
broerie - January 28, 2012
thanks
straw dog - January 28, 2012
no, hes 4th now
blue
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Blue kit with vertical belgian stripes?
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
I think broerie probably right
Czech?
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Oh, could be yes
This it?
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
yoah
straw dog - January 28, 2012
boom race over
geert - January 28, 2012
Ehrm, Lars
Could you give us at least a bit of a chance please? Holy shit.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
This is Vos-like.
Ed K - January 28, 2012
Very explosive
broerie - January 28, 2012
Ooooh la la la la!! (already!)
Ruthann - January 28, 2012
We need a word for that. Vosian? Vosish? Vosesque?
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
Vossome?
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
+100
broerie - January 28, 2012
Works for me. Vosesque is difficult to type, Voshish is difficult to say, Vosian sounds like anti-dandruff shampoo.
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
Vossome sounds like awesome too
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
I think “Vossome” came first. “Awesome” was invented later and caught on because it sounded like “Vossome,” so people immediately knew what it meant.
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
VDH is fantastic in the sand. Wow.
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
But Bosmans a bit better?
Lars is stronger though
broerie - January 28, 2012
OK, I blinked
looks like I missed the race
TheFigurehead - January 28, 2012
WIETSE!!!
You hero. Caught up with Vd Haar.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Wietse Bosmans
catching up?
singhstax - January 28, 2012
Now we got a race
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Hell yes
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Van der Haar relaxing a bit.
Smart, you can’t ride the whole race alone on this course.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
Exact
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Teunissen always reminds me of Boom.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
I had the same thought
broerie - January 28, 2012
and Lars reminds Herijgers of a Jack Russel
makes me laugh
broerie - January 28, 2012
Small, yappy and mean?
TheFigurehead - January 28, 2012
Van der Poel on the podium reminded me of this this morning:
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
is that baby stybar?
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
Yes
Look at the cute little champions
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Baby Boom!
(haha)
tedvdw - January 28, 2012
The belgium guy that is second is not even trying....?
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
Easy boy
The race is just beginning, and he’s away with the best guy of the season by far. It’d be like Andy Schleck being away solo with PhilGil, with 60k to go til the finish of Amstel.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
So absolute certainty that the Belgian will win then?
straw dog - January 28, 2012
No, but the Belgian isn't the Belgian in this scenario
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Race back on, more coming back
straw dog - January 28, 2012
at the start. seriousbabyface
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
This is the hardest looking dry course I've ever seen
That sand is incredibly debilitating over time
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Lol, Lars is a carbon copy of his father!
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
wietse
so easy in the sand
geert - January 28, 2012
Looks better than Lars in the sand
but Lars is maybe better on the grass.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
(and in the sprint)
broerie - January 28, 2012
(definitely faster in the sprint)
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
So, will we see the same scenario tomorrow:
some fast starters (Peeters/Vantornout) making an early gap. Then after 1-2 laps more guys come back to the front, a bit later some come close, but never make it.
broerie - January 28, 2012
Peeters will probably go for a blistering start
Trying to force Stybar to catch up and blow himself up like he’s done so often this season
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
OOOOOH
is van der Haar in trouble?
Bosmans looks way more relaxed here
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Bosmans playing mental games with Lars
broerie - January 28, 2012
It's just a difference in style...
Bosmans is a power rider, Lars is more energetic.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Fucking sand
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
is a painful experience
broerie - January 28, 2012
Yup
Our guys never see this much of it.
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Wietse - Wietse - Wietse!
broerie - January 28, 2012
Wietse! Wietse! Wietse!
How cool it must be to hear them all cheer your name.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
It feels great...! I remember..!
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
explain?
broerie - January 28, 2012
Playing Basketball..... Back when I was young..!
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
Is you real name Manu?
broerie - January 28, 2012
I wish...!
Played against him in nationals… he was in a different level already..!
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
Nice!
broerie - January 28, 2012
almost 20 years ago already... sight......
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
You could have been a member of the olympis squad 4 years ago
broerie - January 28, 2012
Not even close..!
at that age I was ok for my city my area… when we played Manu’s team we lost 129 to 45???? Something like that…
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
nothing to be ashamed of
What position were you?
broerie - January 28, 2012
1.. 2.. 3... even 4 depending on the other team caliber statue
more confy at 2. shooting guard.
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
I was short and heavy always... (we called strong)
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
Hmmm...
No fun to find out you may be a “big fish” but only in your own little small pond.
VirtKitty - January 28, 2012
Generally preferable to being small fish in the big pond!
papyrus - January 28, 2012
Nature tells you will get eaten.
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
Tell me about it..
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
Were you U23 CX world champ once?
Or are you just remembering the last time you chugged a beer?
straw dog - January 28, 2012
different circunstances.
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
Huuuuuuuuge gaps already
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Total laps: 7
only one more than this morning
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Wietse: superior on the sand
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
gains 7 seconds in one passage over Herijgers dune
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Bad one for Lars²
broerie - January 28, 2012
and people booing him?
booo!
broerie - January 28, 2012
that's not cool
straw dog - January 28, 2012
That makes no sense...
VirtKitty - January 28, 2012
Always happened with the other Lars as well.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
Not as an U23 though
But I don’t know if they were really booing him, I only heard it once.
broerie - January 28, 2012
I didn't hear it
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Bosmans is a big lad.
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Wietse simply has more power.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
Lars already said beforehand that he feared only one guy: Wietse Bosmans.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
Guess he was right
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Very good by Van der Heijden, 1st year U23.
Junior world champ MTB.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
Oh, so Michael Vanthourenhout
is DVT’s little brother. Didn’t know that.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Not many taking bikes out of the pits either I see
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
You can ride a sand cross on one bike.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
when it's dry, which apparently it is
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
I am happy to be awake and watching...
…there are twice as many people in this race as I expected!
straw dog - January 28, 2012
During the Junior's race, they said it's "sold out," 53,000 people.
Ruthann - January 28, 2012
Yep, no more tickets for sale at the gates tomorrow
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Morning.
majope - January 28, 2012
g'morning!
VirtKitty - January 28, 2012
I think I need more coffee before it's g'.
majope - January 28, 2012
Goeiemorgen
broerie - January 28, 2012
I would say that back, but I can't even write the Dutch 'G'.
majope - January 28, 2012
Hoeiemorgen
they understand that too in some parts of the country.
Heavy night?
broerie - January 28, 2012
Not terribly.
I just usually sleep in on Saturdays, but we had to get up early to get the kid off to take his SATs.
majope - January 28, 2012
Oh, stressful
Best of luck to him!
VirtKitty - January 28, 2012
Thanks!
I think he’ll be fine. Stress rarely seems to hit that boy.
majope - January 28, 2012
you are just in time...
the denouement is about to denoue
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Ola!
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Americana update
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Thanks!
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Smart move by Lars
forcing Wietse off the bike
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Van der Heijden really is hulking it.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
Wow
Guess my neighbours have a new stereo
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
What's on?
broerie - January 28, 2012
Some horrible dutch rap stuff
She’s Dutch, he’s Dutch Moroccan I think. Or just Moroccan. Doesn’t speak Dutch. They either play shitty Dutch rap, or shitty Belgian techno.
And once, Celine Dion.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Ewwwwww
You have my sympathy.
VirtKitty - January 28, 2012
You could turn yours on for an hour
at 5am before you leave tomorrow morning
straw dog - January 28, 2012
I'm too nice
they have a three year old whose live, I suspect, is pretty shit already (when he cries, they yell at him to shut the fuck up). Don’t particularly want to make his live worse, so I always let them win sound wars.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Oh dear.
Well, treat today as noise-tolerance practice for tomorrow…
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Good plan!
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
I listen to quite a lot of splittercore. Want me to send them a CD – it’s been known to put people off all forms of music for life?
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
Lol
Lars Van der Haar spitfail
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Czech boy DNF
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Ah, right
We get to see a Swedish rider when we’re actually watching that Czech rider DNF’ing
TheFigurehead - January 28, 2012
Bobble in the sand by Lars
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
Michael Vanthourenhout in pain!
Oh no :(
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Oh my.
I’m not sure how shocked it’s possible to be when a Belgian wins a CX race, but shocked we may soon be….
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Will Lars' teammate work for him?
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Last year
Vander Heijden was leading. Van der Haar chased him down and ultimately kicked his ass…
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
No, that was Teunissen.
And Eising chased him down.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
Oh, sorry
thanks for the correction!
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
If he works for himself it's good for Lars too
broerie - January 28, 2012
Don't know, he's better in the sand.
Technically fantastic rider, been called the new Absalom.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
VDH and VDH together
VDH leading now
broerie - January 28, 2012
Sure it's not VDH?
majope - January 28, 2012
VDH2 looks better in the sand than VDHOrigingal
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Yes, vd Heijden is the sand king.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
Van de heide
makes sense. (and reminds me of a song about riding on de heide)
broerie - January 28, 2012
This will be instersting
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
USA! USA!
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
He has a habit of coming on very strongly at the end
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012

ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
Steady ladies.......
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
I'm not even sure whether we are talking about
a menage a trois, or chocolate
straw dog - January 28, 2012
or both
TheFigurehead - January 28, 2012
It has to be one or the other?
majope - January 28, 2012
Ha :)
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Only once?
VirtKitty - January 28, 2012
Van der Haar, you jackass, let Wietse past!
(smart riding there)
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Look! Look at what the VDHs did on that hill!
Did I predict that or what?
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Nice line by Bosmans
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
that was sweet
Chris Fontecchio - January 28, 2012
Morning sir
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
hiya!
Chris Fontecchio - January 28, 2012
Vd Heijden clearly all technique, not as much power.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
I'm getting a bit nervous
broerie - January 28, 2012
Glad it isn't just me

Make sure you reach Herijgers’ dune in first position
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
So anyone saw albertina or and Sarah???
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
Don't know
Lots of pink there
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
And they don't show their feet
VirtKitty - January 28, 2012
should have worn those giant white Dutch hats like Barbie
paisley - January 28, 2012
on their feet?!
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Saw a possible a while back
Wasn’t fast enough to the Prt Scr button though.
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
Albertina said we should “just look out for the loopy people.” I pointed out that this is an event attended by a lot of Dutch and Belgian people, therefore that wouldn’t narrow it down very much.
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
so they never put together the PdC flag?
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
They said they had something we'd be able to spot
but not what. They might be saving it for tomorrow, of course.
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
Smart by Bosmans
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Brilliant!
broerie - January 28, 2012
bah, walking
broerie - January 28, 2012
and slowly, too!
Bosmans is playing it cool
papyrus - January 28, 2012
Now this is fucking racing!
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Phiew. I'm nervous!
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Don't look now, but Joffroy has them in sight.
Ed K - January 28, 2012
Two more dunes to go
Herijgers’ dune once, X-dune once
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
two man race
IMHO. Lars looks frisky, Bosmans determined.
Chris Fontecchio - January 28, 2012
Come on Wietse, come on Wietse
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Damn
broerie - January 28, 2012
Lars, you asshole!
Ok, that was booing :)
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Oh!
Signage-gate!
Chris Fontecchio - January 28, 2012
come on go wietse
geert - January 28, 2012
who is the best sprinter?
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
lars is fast
all I know
Chris Fontecchio - January 28, 2012
Lars, in theory
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
and in practice.
Ed K - January 28, 2012
We're going to find out! Exciting!
Ruthann - January 28, 2012
All's fair in love and cross
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
I was watching a bike race
and a hockey game broke out
TheFigurehead - January 28, 2012
Racing on the edge now
broerie - January 28, 2012
elbow to elbow there
Chris Fontecchio - January 28, 2012
Dirty games being played here
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Bosmans - take the Nys line in the sprint!
straw dog - January 28, 2012
WIIIIEEEEEETSEEEEE
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Come on boy!!!!
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Briljant!!
Ruthann - January 28, 2012
Whoa!
Chris Fontecchio - January 28, 2012
Fuck, Lars caught up
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Ha, Herijgers was very happy there
“HE’S WORLD CHAMPION!!”
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
that was
a tad early.
Chris Fontecchio - January 28, 2012
Bah. No fair. Not deserved.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
What?
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
Disappointment
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Whew!
That was exciting.
majope - January 28, 2012
Commentators so excited!
ZoeRochelle - January 28, 2012
amn damn damn damn damn damn damn
geert - January 28, 2012
Indeed
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Well, that was actually exciting
Adios
TheFigurehead - January 28, 2012
Very nice race.
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
+ muchos
broerie - January 28, 2012
HOLLAND!
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
damn damn damn damn damn

geert - January 28, 2012
damn
broerie - January 28, 2012
Wow,
is
Shane McGowanHeintje still alive?papyrus - January 28, 2012
No idea
but the legend lives on
broerie - January 28, 2012
Meh.
I like Lars, but I don’t particularly like how they raced in the end.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
And what about Bosmans blocking Vd Heijden, great rider in the sand?
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
twice, I think
papyrus - January 28, 2012
Yeah, Bosmans cut him off
broerie - January 28, 2012
after being cut off by Lars
both were a bit tricky IMO
broerie - January 28, 2012
Zach McDonald comes in 12th
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
wheelie and all
paisley - January 28, 2012
MacDonald 12, witha wheelie.
Ed K - January 28, 2012
When they show the replay of Lars' mistake
watch how he tries to blobk Wietse, he threw his body all the way to the left, but Wietse managed to avoid him. Dirty manouvre thoough
broerie - January 28, 2012
Not the first time he did that too
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
... and watch how Wietse blocks Michiel.
Sorry, very one sided commentary.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
(see up, I hadn't seen it in the live)
broerie - January 28, 2012
Certain I just saw Albertina with a Basque flag!
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
And a fainting couch
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Must be hard to carry a couch around in that crowd
VirtKitty - January 28, 2012
Inflatable camping couch?
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
with velvet inlay
Only the best for her
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
It's a bit awkward to manoeuver, but very light.
majope - January 28, 2012
She borrowed yours, didn't she.
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
A pretty pathetic wheelie effort there from USA-boy...
need some lessons from Robbie
straw dog - January 28, 2012
He might be a little tired
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
But that's the point -
Robbie wheelies over the line at the top of the Tourmalet!
straw dog - January 28, 2012
That he rides at his own pace
Let him ride through the sand for 45’ and see how spry he is :-)
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
...not entirely his own pace,
sprinter autobus usually have to half kill themselves to finish inside time limit
straw dog - January 28, 2012
Thanks for the translations and explanations...
This is fun ..! I like it..!
pablo777 - January 28, 2012
WHat's the name of the dune
where Bosmas took that last lead?
Chris Fontecchio - January 28, 2012
Is that X-dune?
Soon to be Pauwels-dune?
straw dog - January 28, 2012
X-dune?
It will be named after whoever wins the men’s elite tomorrow
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Bosmans looks disappointed.
majope - January 28, 2012
wouldn't you be?
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Me, personally?
Hell, if I could make the podium in any kind of race, much less a world championship, I’d be incredibly happy.
majope - January 28, 2012
that feeling probably takes a while
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Yeah, I'm sure.
majope - January 28, 2012
Incredibly impressive ride by Vd Heijden.
The guy isn’t even really a ’crosser!
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
He did a nice impression of one today
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
If you're second here
you’re a crosser
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
He uses cross mainly to prepare for the MTB season.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
yeah,
did he start far back?
broerie - January 28, 2012
Great race though
very nice
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Very excellent. Jouffroy should get a prize for finishing 4th. That was inspired.
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
best one of the year IMO
broerie - January 28, 2012
Yoah
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Koksijde, always awesome
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
So far
Vos v. van den Brand will be epic.
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
I think it will be boring
1 Vos (alone after the first lap)
2 Daphny (alone all race)
3 ?
broerie - January 28, 2012
They should have the worlds here again in 2014
to counteract the boredom that’ll be 2015
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
I heard the UCI forgot they had to pick a country for 2014
broerie - January 28, 2012
Snort
that would’nt even surprise me
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
They have allocated 2015 to Tabor
but 2014 isn known yet
broerie - January 28, 2012
Yeah, I know
Wondered why
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
(ps, Tabor. Blah! Let’s give 2014 to Zonhoven to counteract the dullness)
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
1 V.D Haar NED-
2 Bosmans BEL-
3 V.D.Heijden NED –
4 Jouffroy FRA-
5 Sweeck BEL -
6 Konwa –
7 Theunisse
Sweeck is a first years U23. Not bad.
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
What happened to his twin brother?
broerie - January 28, 2012
Lars in English!
majope - January 28, 2012
UCI requirement
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
INterview in English?
Works for me.
Chris Fontecchio - January 28, 2012
Are they really the U-23s?
They all look about 10.
John Cyclopunk - January 28, 2012
They do!
There are kids at my son’s high school who look a lot older.
majope - January 28, 2012
Well, Lars is an extreme example.
Babyface FTW
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
21 yr old seniors, eh?
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
Well, this is Indy.
majope - January 28, 2012
Indeed :-)
Drew Davis - January 28, 2012
10 < 23
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
Ha!
VirtKitty - January 28, 2012
Aw, poor Wietse
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
He looks like he's about to burst into tears
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
cry face
geert - January 28, 2012
Awww...
I do feel for him.
majope - January 28, 2012
The boy is not happy
tgsgirl - January 28, 2012
He really gave it everything he had.
Ruthann - January 28, 2012
Commentator explains that Lars rides every race for his sister.
He lost her to cancer. He also sometimes tweets that he puts the victory flowers on her grave.
blackswangreen - January 28, 2012
That's sad.
majope - January 28, 2012
+1
broerie - January 28, 2012
